FileMaker Go was introduced just a few years ago and, with its latest version, has the potential to increase the utility of FileMaker databases beyond anything that has come before it by allowing users to access their live databases while out of the office or to take copies of their databases with them on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
Even though FileMaker Go is relatively new, we already have several projects that incorporate FileMaker Go as a critical element. |

Field Service Application - FileMaker Go for iPhone

Our original project with this company was to assist them in managing a complex field service business wherein they conduct onsite inspections of equipment located in various locations all across the United States.
The application we designed enables them to track when service is required, who is eligible to perform the service, assist with the scheduling of the service, and track the status of the work required after the service is complete (reporting, invoicing, etc.) With FileMaker Go, the field service personnel will now have the ability to access the FileMaker database from their iPhones while away from the office, using it in conjunction with other iPhone apps to get directions, keep up with appointments, and more. In order to facilitate this process, we created iPhone-friendly user layouts that present the information required in concise and easy-to-use screens with buttons to open a map, make a phone call, etc. |

Sales & Marketing Application - FileMaker Go for iPad

This application was created for a large independent soft drink bottler located in the U.S. The company needed a tool that would assist their field sales force in improving sales volume of existing products as well as assisting in the introduction of new products. The functionality requirements included specific product marketing, validation of existing sales and profitability, forecasting incremental revenues and income, and the ability to execute an agreement at the end of the sales process which is then emailed to the company's customers.
The application also needed to be able to work in a disconnected state but also had to be able to synchronize with the head office at the end of the day. In addition, preliminary agreements needed to be reviewed and approved prior to presentation, and after the agreements were executed, they needed to be processed by financial personnel. The solution came in the form of an iPad application that runs on FileMaker Go. Users complete their work on the iPad and then synchronize the accounts that have been updated to FileMaker Server as needed. Approvers and administrators access what they needed using FileMaker's web capabilities, eliminating the need for FileMaker desktop clients. Finally, updates to and from the company's main SQL database are conducted on regular basis using FileMaker's server side scripting capabilities. |

Hotel Management Application - FileMaker Go for iPad
|
This application was created for an operator of hotels to allow them to manage the housekeeping and maintenance functions in the properties that they manage.
It includes a customizable checklist that allows the housekeeping staff to record specific activities that should occur on a daily basis. It also allows the staff to photograph any issues that may need attention along with specific comments and forward those to the maintenance staff, which then use the FileMaker database to prioritize their work. Finally, we also offered the ability to synchronize their FileMaker database with the hotel's main database that is in SQL Server. |

Surgical Management Application - FileMaker Go for iPad

This application was created for a cosmetic surgery center to assist in the management of their surgical procedures, including operating room scheduling, comparing actual versus benchmark times required for specific procedures, capturing use of surgical supplies for costing, etc.
